Last Tuesday, Punzal Vision hosted another ‘Ohana Day for the entire Island School Pre-K. Dr. Punzal and Brity’s second daughter Lawakua and 40 of her classmates came to our office for a fun-filled day!
We had six different stations/activities-
1) Arts and crafts. The kids got to channel their creativity and decorated pre-cut glasses with a wide variety of stickers, jewels, and more with Lehua by their side.
2) Optical. Every year, Karl shows the kids how to cut lenses but this time around, he wanted to teach them how transition lenses change color in the sunlight.
3) Pin the Eye on Eyevan. This was a fun twist on Pin the tail on the donkey. It was a fun way to show them how important your vision is.
4) Color Vision. Kahe played 2-3 games that tests their color vision.
5) Hand-Eye Coordination. Tianne and Brittney switched things up and took this activity outside. Everyone had a turn to throw the baseball into the box using their right and left hand.
6) Last but definitely not least, Vision Screening test. Dr. Punzal and Pua gave each student a vision test using letters and allen figures getting a gage of what their visual acuity is.
We then headed over to Domino’s for every kid’s favorite- Pizza! Before ‘Ohana Day ended, we made sure everyone got their goodie bags and pediatric sunglasses
This was our 4th annual ‘Ohana Day and we already can’t wait for next year. We have a blast every year and are amazed with how smart these keikis are! Our goal is to give children a positive experience at the Eye Doctor’s showing them that it can be fun and to understand that vision is an important aspect of learning.
