We are once again honored to be featured in the Kaua’i Family Magazine Spring Issue 2020. This spring, we’d like to bring awareness to 5 signs that your child may need glasses. We all want our keiki to have a positive learning experience during their years of schooling. Often times, children are not verbal about their difficulties with vision when looking at the white board, reading, and doing homework. As a parent and/or guardian, here are some signs you can look for to let you know that your child may need glasses:
– If they complain of headaches- that could be a sign of eyestrain and fatigue.
– Squinting or excessive blinking can indicate the need for visual correction
– If your child moves too close to the TV, computer, or reading material such as a book/ipad.
– If you notice a difference between both eyes such as an eye turn.
– Learning disinterest or poor academic progress can be related to poor vision. Blurred vision can make it difficult to stay attentive and retain information.
We recommend a comprehensive eye exam for children of all ages. It’s not too late to schedule your child for an exam with us to ensure a successful school year with the best vision possible resulting in an easier learning process.
Hope to SEE you soon!
