Did you know that August is Children’s Vision and Learning Month? With our keiki back to school, it’s important that they are comfortable in their learning environment. If you notice that your child is having a difficult time in school or with reading, it could be vision related. At a young age, it can be a challenge for them to express “blurry vision.” With annual vision checks, we’re able to test their visual acuity and make recommendations as to what type of glasses can be beneficial for them. Here are some things to look for:
– Disinterest in reading, writing, and general school work.
– Excessive Blinking
– Eye Rubbing
– Headaches, Eye Fatigue
– Holding reading material too close to face
– Asking to be seated at the front of the class
Even if your child does not express any of these complaints, establishing eye care at a young age is still recommended.
