This month, Dr. Punzal and Brity attended the American Optometric Association’s annual conference, known as Optometry’s Meeting. This year’s conference was held in Chicago. They were able to attend continuing education courses to advance their knowledge and meet with multiple vendors sharing the latest advancements in Optometry resources and technology.
Acuvue shared information about their latest advancements in contact lenses. Alcon and Bausch + Lomb explained their newest prescription eye drops. Dr. Punzal attended special hands-on workshops about suturing techniques and for fitting scleral contact lenses. Brity attended courses on medical coding and motivating employees.
Dr. Punzal also met up with a former classmate from the Indiana University School of Optometry. His friend, Todd Peabody, is currently the Associate Dean of Institutional Advancement & a Clinical Professor at the Indiana University School of Optometry. They were able to reconnect at the Optometry Cares 5k run.
Optometry’s Meeting was a great experience for both Dr. Punzal and Brity. They gained many new insights to bring back to Punzal Vision to improve both the patient and employee experience.
