Interview: Kahelena Degracia

Kahe, you’ve been with us for a couple of months now, how do you like working here at Punzal Vision?

Kahe: Working at Punzal Vision has taught me a lot about the eye that I did not know about. I love that I am always learning something new everyday. Everyone here is just wonderful people not just to work with but all around.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Kahe: My favorite thing to do outside of work is spending time with my 3 puppies, friends and family.

You’re the oldest sibling of 6, what’s that like?

Kahe: Being the oldest of 6 comes with a lot of responsibility. But I guess being the oldest has taught me a lot with being responsible and I hope that I am setting a good example for my younger siblings.

Do you have a hidden talent or something that we don’t know about you?

Kahe: Once upon a time I was a band geek in middle school and played the clarinet and flute. I traveled to Anaheim for band and performed at Disneyland.

You graduated from the KCC Medical Assisting program- what made you want to pursue a career in the medical field?

Kahe: I always enjoyed helping people and seeing their smiles when they walk out the door because they had a good experience is why I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would that be and why?

Kahe: I would like to go to Disneyworld and eat a bunch of churros because it is my happy place.

What’s something on your bucket list?

Kahe: Go to all of the Disney destinations in the world.

What’s something you hope to accomplish before 2019 ends?

Kahe: This year I accomplished getting a car loan on my own. I didn’t think I was going to be able to do it alone because of my age but with the advice from my family, I couldn’t have done it without them

Out of everything we’ve learned at Punzal Vision, what was the most interesting to you?

Kahe: The most interesting thing that I’ve learned working here is all of the different kinds of CL we have.

Tianne is your favorite coworker- true or false?

Kahe: Tianne is not only one of my favorite coworkers but she’s also my favorite person. You can always count on her when you need a hug and smile.
