We’ve been talking a lot about children’s eye health, but we can’t forget about our parents, grandparents, and elders. At Punzal Vision, we do our best to accommodate each and every patient that comes through our doors. As a lot of you know, our Practice Manager Pua Cobb-Adams and CPO Lehua Watanabe are sisters. Their dad, Wayne Watanabe, is famously known around Kaua’i as being a Kapa’a High School Principal and football coach. He was diagnosed with Alzhemier’s Disease in 2009.
As it progressed, his ability to walk and talk became limited. However, his routine medical exams remain a priority. With cases similar to Uncle Wayne’s, there is still so much Dr. Punzal and his staff can do to provide the most optimal care.
We try to get as much subjective information as possible. We can observe if their eyes are red, watery, or have any inflammation? We test whether they can focus and fixate on an object. We also ask questions to their family members or caregivers for objective information such as: has the patient been rubbing their eyes or do you notice any squinting when he or she is reading or looking into the distance?
At Punzal Vision, we are dedicated to serving the members of our community – from Keiki to Kupuna. If you or a loved one requires special attention or care in order to receive an annual eye examination, we are here to help! Give us a call or Book an Appointment online today.
We look forward to SEEing you Soon!
