During such uncertain times, it is paramount that we, as a community, do everything we can to perform self-care. What are some of the things you can do for yourself and your family members?
– Stay Informed. There are daily updates, locally and globally, regarding COVID-19. It is important to stay informed about the spread of this disease and the required guidelines we need to follow as a community.
– Take care of your body. Eat healthy, drink lots of water, exercise, meditate, have a positive mindset, etc. Always have your PPE (personal protective equipment) on and thoroughly practice social-distancing. Be aware of your well-being. Document any symptoms you may experience and stay in touch with your primary care or specialist doctor.
– Continue learning. The unknown can be intimidating. Keep up with fact-and-science based sources to learn as much as possible.
– Connect with others. Self-quarantine can take an emotional toll on individuals as we are taken away from our daily routine of going to work and other social gatherings. Staying connected through facetime, zoom, group chats, etc to discuss your concerns and thoughts with people you trust can be helpful.
– Wear your prescription glasses. With the Stay-At-Home order in effect, we are now watching more TV, netflix, and playing on electronic devices more than ever. There are harmful blue-uv rays that can come off of digital products resulting in headaches and eyestrain. Wearing your glasses with anti-reflective coating can help to prevent any type of discomfort.
– Overcome boredom. Mayor Derek Kawakami is highly involved with social media and posts DIY home projects we can do as individuals and a household to overcome the boredom that staying home may cause.
Doing what we can, where we can. That’s the Punzal Vision Way.
